Submission Instructions/Grading Explanation

After discussing this with Dr. Kent, I’ve decided to use his grading system for non-exam takers. Obviously, as you are well aware, I can’t grade or give feedback for those of you who are taking the exam, and it would be unfair for those of you who are not taking the exam to not get any sort of credit for the work that you are submitting.

So.

Here’s how this is going to work: AP Exam takers, I will assume you are exempting the “final.” Non-exam takers, your work throughout the semester (two papers, two presentations) will make up a “final.” These will be put into the gradebook using the current categories (the two papers will be research fundamentals, and the two presentations will be presentation fundamentals). You will get a grade while those taking the exam will be exempt.

Your work I *can* grade, so I’ll be doing so using the AP Rubrics. The rest of the AP Rules apply as you are working, though, because I want to see what you can do, not what I can do.

So, in a nutshell, your grades will be treated as though you are in any other AP class and have elected not to take the exam.

If you ARE taking the exam, upload your papers for PT1 to their website no later than Friday – I have to read them for plagiarism. If you are NOT taking the exam, I’ve created a TurnItIn.com assignment ONLY FOR YOU. Turn your work in there. If you ARE TAKING THE EXAM DO NOT SUBMIT YOUR WORK THERE.
